LAS VEGAS, NV
According to a survey conducted by the Nevada Homeless Alliance, it is estimated that 30,000 residents of Southern Nevada will experience homelessness at some point this year- 25% of whom are unaccompanied children and youth.
Young people face debilitating barriers to their well-being as a result of their homelessness, which is often a result of abusive or negligent caretakers and homes. They are often faced with making difficult choices for survival, which includes exchanging sex for food, shelter, and/or drugs. It is estimated that youth are lured into prostitution within 48 hours of leaving their homes.
